The top users page was created as an extension for my profile page view counter mod. It works a little differently than the default one and counts non-member views as well.

Looks like you fixed it?

Anyway, keep in mind that the apostrophe periods '. are for variables only.
Like in the line below the '. should not appear before signup.php like it does, it should only appear before a variable. So instead of(from the first code you posted):

$refer_url = !empty($phpfox_config_profile['htaccess_url']) ? ''$VAR[] .'/'signup.php?refer=$VAR[4] .''

it would be:

$refer_url = !empty($phpfox_config_profile['htaccess_url']) ? ''$VAR[] .'/signup.php?refer='$VAR[4] .''

You use '. when you are trying to have a variable work inside other apostrophes. For example if you had:

$DATA = 'Hello, '.$VAR[4].'';

You need the '. .' around $VAR[4] or it will just say $VAR[4] instead of the user's name

I think the reason what you changed it to worked is because instead of apostrophes you used quotations " which do translate variables in general

This could be good, but also bad. A bad idea in that someone could use your intellectual idea and develop something before you finish. Its like giving out your trade secretes to someone without having him or her sign a non-disclosure. However, most of us are just reinventing the wheel on most our ideas.

I think it would be a good idea for all developers who have mods in creation to post them up, this is so that theres not a few people making the same thing and people dont waste their time

This is so that developers dont overlap each others work, and that all developers can benefit

I need to know where I can manually edit the users account level, eg. VIP, Gold etc.

Where is it hidden in the database? I can't seem to find it! sad

It's under the `user` table in the `type` field. It is set by number. Admin is 0, gold is 1, vip is 2, normal is nothing

Looks like staff is also 0, but then you put a 1 in the `admin` row

Here's an onpage factor you can use now to improve your seo:

- do your keyword research for your site (index) and add them in your main title tags
- make specific sections such as say "forums" for example, cross-linked throughout your site in the footer with "your keywords forum" in the anchor text

I really don't think that this request is screwing up anything....I guess the only thing I think is screwed up is that the site was designed with no thought to SEO or ad targeting in the first place. I mean all the fancy code and gagets in the world aren't what make you money...SEO and ad optimization are what make you money. I don't know about anyone else by my users certainly aren't in any hurry to pay me for hanging out on my site.

../profile.php line 79:

$b phpfox_sql_query("user","`user`,`id`,`friends_only`","WHERE `id` = '$_GET[id]'",TRUE);

So the id for the current profile's user can be retrieved with $_GET[id] or $b[id].

So you could do something like:

$retrieve = mysql_query("SELECT `views` FROM `user` WHERE `id` = '$b[id]'");
$viewings = mysql_fetch_array($retrieve);
$viewnum = ($viewings[views] + 1);
mysql_query("UPDATE `user` SET `views`='$viewnum' WHERE `id` = '$b[id]'");

those are just variables in that file. you would need to add new veriables there then in index.php assign the new variables just like those were made

i have this on but it doesnt show vip online

gold online

it just shows totals
