I just wanted to be the first one to post on this forum hehehe carry on now... lol!
Actually the first post was by RacingGirlz but apparently it was moved or deleted as I was the second to be commenting after her and got an error I guess because her post was either moved or deleted...Sorry to burst bubbles mate. It was just by chance that I actually did a cut/paste to quote her.

Today 05:46 PM racingirlz phpFox 2 alpha 1 looks Great I love the very fluid look to it cant wait to see some styles people can come up with, with this.
Hey any chance you can post us some screen shots of the admin panel?
and the forums section will that be available for demo by alpha 2?
Yeah I saw RacingGirlz first as well and then wasn't able to find her thread, believe Jack moved it cause this is a "How do I" forum, I am going to change this to a "General Discussion" forum so we can keep all v2 related threads in here.
Even though there are no modules built in yet it seems slow and sluggish. There are some nice features I like, like voting on comments but overall it is too early for any positive or negative comments, I am just happy to see phpfox sticking to its schedule, lets hope this continues.
I think it looks like a wordpress template, which isn't an outright bad thing as some of them look quite nice but as I said in my first reply it isn't exactly a step forward either. How ever I don't think the design is important at this stage.
With regards to it being "slow and sluggish" did you test the online demo or install your own. If you installed your own then I would suggest it is your servers I put it on mine and was very happy with the page load speeds, I even clicked page after page to see how fast it would react with no problems.
I agree I installed it on my server and it flies, and David is right this release is for the likes of himself who will be developing for this platform so at the moment the overall design isnt important, people wont pick up the flow of the engine and what not over night.
What phpfox really need now is constructive feedback from developers on where they can improve/change things with the engine before it becomes to late.
Nice, one thing, one the demo, when I log in I see "updates" with all the things that people did, but none of those people are my friends yet. So I hope this information will be visible to friends only in the production software.

There is an option in the AdminCP on how the feeds module should work. Currently you can set it to show all feeds or just feeds from our friends. We can also control how long we should keep a feed active as well as how many to display.

In the admin CP that option will let the member choose how to display there activity feed? some members wants every one to know what they do others only friends an some not to show at all.

thanks
In the AdminCP it will only allow Admins and Staff to choose the global settings of how the activity feed will work.
We plan on adding more settings for the actual end users so they can control what sort of information they want to view more or less off. An example would be if I would rather view more of who my friends are adding comments on and less of updated profile images I would be able to filter this either from the feed box via AJAX or on another static settings page.
The ideas are still floating around but we will definitely still be improving the feed module as well as any of the current modules provided with Alpha 1.
Late last year facebook added option to allow users to put their friends into groups. So a user can specify which group of friends sees what. That makes sense, letting close friends see all the feeds and other not so close friends only allow them to see less personal information.
