I think it would be a good idea for all developers who have mods in creation to post them up, this is so that theres not a few people making the same thing and people dont waste their time

THIS IS NOT THE AREA TO ASK FOR MODS, PLEASE START A SEPERATE THREAD

This is so that developers dont overlap each others work, and that all developers can benefit

Thanks

Glen.

Im going to work on the SEO side of things

I think it will be important for us to have our main pages - ie. pages we create, top users, blogs, polls, browse, fun can have seperate keywords and descriptions so that they are not in google supplemental for example

i also propose that a seperate bottom navigation is added, but this can be user choice as they would have to do it themselves anyway
#6
Glen, could you please start a new thread on SEO mod? This way, we can give our suggestions.

I'm working on a wysiwyg text editor mod (FCKeditor integration).

Tutankhamen, twofast had posted FCKeditor Mod long back, I am using it very successfully in my blogs. Check it out here http://forums.phpfox.com/showthread.php?t=2109&page=5

Yeah, if you're having problems with it let me know. I've got it working flawlessly and haven't even checked that thread until now. Oops! almost forgot about that mod lol angry

Well, I understood it's for the blog section only. I'm integrating it for the whole site and it'll include all the phpFoX smilies. Also, I'm thinking about adding some backend features.

No, you can integrate it into any section - it's just a matter of manually inserting code and modifying it to fit into those sections, for now. Smile

Kewl tutankhamen. I just thought you shouldnt spend time in re-inventing the wheel. But looks like you got different things on your mind. Would be interesting mod. Just a note, this editor slows down the site speed. If we can avoid that, it would be wonderful.

Definately. I can concur with you there. This is why I used it mainly for the blog section. If you can slim it down by default and maybe optimize it somehow - that would definately be cool for me as well as I definately need something like that! shade

Or better yet... a TextArea switcher - meaning by clicking a button you can go from HTML Text Area to a WYSIWYG Mode ? smile

Here is a file I made for my site to get RSS 1.0, I am still working on an RSS 2.0 version, just not a lot of time to work on it.

Save this as a file in your root, like blognews.php , and add an RSS logo/link to this file in your site (I put mine just in the Blog section).

This has validated on most sites I tried it on, it is beta in tha fact that I have not done a whole heck of a lot of testing yet. But, it has been accepted to several large blog feeds, FYI, some of the code cleaning was hit and mis.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISKSmile

If you make improvments I would appreciate your posting those back here.

These are just current things will be working on thumbs_up

It would be great with IPB but drew i suggest why don't you finish up few small things left on phpBB as i've been waiting for the importor for phpBB to import all the previous post to new phpBB forum. I guess it would be a great if first you do that i've been looking for that since long.

This could be good, but also bad. A bad idea in that someone could use your intellectual idea and develop something before you finish. Its like giving out your trade secretes to someone without having him or her sign a non-disclosure. However, most of us are just reinventing the wheel on most our ideas.
