Hi

I am running a Social Network for my University Students. I want only My university Fellows to register on my website. Is there anyway we can restrict new members to use only a specific type of email address for registration . E.g.  I want  my users to  have email like    userabc@mywebsite.com    . So  Members can only use  @mywebsite.com    email adresses  .  like   yahoo.com or hotmail.com.

In this way, I can make sure only my university fellows are registering on my website.

Thanks

you can probably do that from your cpanel using Apache SpamAssassin.. Whitelist the domain you want to acess such as *@*mysite.com

then blacklist everything else with *@*

other options could be throught the htaccess to where you disallow everyone and just allow the email domain you want...or get a developer to customize the registration to where the email domain is already populated and use just has to enter the prefix to their email address in the slot
